Jett's Puppy Party
By the end of the party little Jett was so pooped he just slapped himself down on the back patio and zonked. Everyone played with my tiny black doggie. This little red-headed 7-year-old especially loved little Jett. She just kept playing with him. Even after I nicely asked her to let Jett take a little nap she looked up at me with big green eyes and asked how long he was going to sleep. I just wanted him to have a break so I told her five minutes. Forgetting that five minutes is like a century to a 7-year-old, about a minute later she was nudging slowly closer to my baby. At the end of the party the little red head started to cry. Jett gave her a kiss good bye and I could tell that she was heart broken. I forgot how attached little girls and boys become with animals. I told her she could come over anytime and play with little Jett. He would love it.
The puppy party was my good friend Rachel's. She is an expert when it comes to dogs. Having worked in a vet clinic for a dozen years, she knows what makes a good, and a bad dog. She's been so helpful. Her reason for the puppy party was so that he'll get socialized at an early age and when he grows up he wont be scared of different types of people. I especially want him to be good with kids. I've read that dogs will sometimes think that a kid is lower in the pack and will try to dominate it. That's when the kids get knocked over and nipped at. It's part of their behavior. Dogs will also be scared of the squeaky sounds kids make and how hyper they are. I don't want little Jett to grow up scared of anybody-except for maybe an intruder.

First Mistake
Potty training. I have to get that down and establish a routine. Baby Jett wakes me up every morning at 5 am and when he does that I immediately have to take him outside. This morning I got up and fed him breakfast then I proceeded to tidy up the kitchen and make coffee. Big mistake. He just has to go outside as soon as I get up. This morning he left a nice little trail of doodies all the way across the entryway floor. He's ready for a routine, I just have to establish one.
